If the phone is offline or switched off, the push waits at Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM) and is delivered the moment the device reconnects, within their retention window — we hand the alert off and they deliver on reconnect. Delivery isn’t guaranteed, which is exactly why escalation matters: if no one acknowledges in time, FlowAlert escalates to the next person (on Pro). FlowAlert respects Do Not Disturb and Focus modes — to let alerts through a silenced phone, the recipient allows FlowAlert in their device’s Focus / notification settings. For mission-critical coverage, lean on escalation and your on-call rota rather than a single device.
Each person sets their own quiet hours in the app. During quiet hours, non-urgent alerts wait silently in their in-app inbox while urgent ones still come through. Because routing is per-team and per-person, you can point overnight events at whoever’s actually on shift, and escalation covers anyone who’s asleep.
We store only what’s needed to route your alerts: the events you send (title, body and any data fields), the notifications we deliver, and your team’s accounts and routing setup. We practise data minimisation, automatically delete events and notifications after 90 days, and let you export or delete your workspace at any time. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
